Mandarin and Culture Program
Learning one or more of the modern languages is particularly useful in today's employment market. Home Stay Program
We welcome participants from all backgrounds to China ESL home stay Program. Participants are given a great opportunity to discover China and to enhance their understanding of local Chinese culture and customs. It is a mutually beneficial way to enjoy a great time, find contacts and build friendship with the local Chinese people and families in one of the most ancient and advancing civilized country.
Expectations
Living Condition
Your living conditions will be upscale by local standards. Meanwhile, you won't have to give up your privacy and interpersonal relationship with other foreigners as two participants are expected to live in a modern apartment with their own private bedroom. Our host families are generally very well off and belong to the local elite (Government officials, party leaders, business owners, etc.), they will make provision for more exquisite food than you can eat, Internet access etc
Host Family
By staying with your host family, you will not only get a "home-away-from-home" feeling, but will also have an opportunity to participate in a unique inter-cultural experience. Our host families are carefully screened and rank amongst the wealthiest and most respected families in their respective cities or even in the country. The vast majority are successful middle aged families that want their children to spend time with foreign English speakers for cultural awareness and to improve their language skills. These families will go to great lengths to make their guests happy and will treat them to the best hotels, best restaurants, trips to historical sites and more at no expense to the guests. They feel honored and responsible to welcome foreigners into their homes. These families also will provide our participants with help in learning Chinese mandarin.
Life with a Chinese Family
Chinese are amongst the most hospitable people in the world, they will go to unimaginable lengths to make their guests comfortable and accommodate their every need. We can say without a doubt that you will be treated like royalty during your stay here. In exchange, it is required that you spend one to two hours a day with your hosts chatting and maybe exchanging English and Mandarin Chinese lessons. Overall, respect and an open mind are key to a successful home stay experience. As a family member, you will experience daily life with the host family. In addition, China ESL will make provision for a 24 hours per day, 7 days per week Emergency Support.
* Explore China's historical and cultural landmarks during afternoon or weekend excursions
* Participate in activities such as calligraphy lessons, cooking class, and a traditional Chinese medicine workshop
